We are a small business partnership of two women, based in East Cornwall. We became interested in the notion of fairly traded goods and sustainability, as well as products that are well made, will last a long time and not blight the environment when they are no longer wanted.

We began importing products from Barefoot after a chance visit to the shop in Colombo. We were highly impressed with their ethics and bowled over by their products, which are a world away from any preconceived notions about hand made goods being fragile, and in boring colours that run and fade. We now share in the Barefoot passion experienced by all who are involved with this amazing company. We aim to communicate that passion to you. These products are unlike any you’ve seen before, unless you’ve seen Barefoot before. Once seen, always recognised. However, these goods are never mass-produced, so you will not see the same thing in every chain store you visit.

We started a small market stall, trading in Cornwall and Devon and occasionally further a-field in the summer, visiting festivals and fairs, selling mainly Barefoot products as well as other goods imported by members of the British Association of Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS), including fair trade silver jewellery and bags made from recycled materials such as crisp wrappers and lorry tyres. However, it is the Barefoot products which have proven to be the most sought after, and so it is these that you will find on the website at the moment.

Because the products are all hand made from hand woven cotton, they take a little time to make, and because we prefer to ship the goods by sea, they take a little time to arrive. As each item is hand made by one person, your product is unlikely to be the same as any other; so we photograph most of the goods individually for the website. Therefore, if you see the specific combination of colours you want, don't hesitate to order immediately because when it's gone, it's gone!

You can find us at the famous markets at Totnes in West Devon on Fridays, and Truro (Lemon Quay) in Cornwall on Wednesdays, as well as fairs and festivals throughout the summer and of course, at Christmas.
